CSA

Community Supported Agriculture

That’s exactly what it is! You as a member support the farmers (us) as well as the community (each other) and a better food system. We as farmers commit to do everything in our power to ensure a bountiful harvest year and to deliver fresh and healthy vegetables. You want not only to get fresh vegetables, but you want to ideologically and monetarily support us to succeed as a micro-business. By buying your share for the season in advance you make sure that we have capital right when we need it: at the beginning of the year, when we need to buy seeds, plants and equipment. If you want to help us setting an example of the feasibility of this kind of food production, join us!

That’s the deal

Weekly delivery or Farm pick-up

Every week you’ll eat fresh vegetables from what’s available on the land. The boxes are composed according to the season. That means, naturally, in spring the harvest will be a little less abundant than in summer when we won’t know what to do with all that beautiful harvest. Generally you can always find some 5-8 different types of vegetables, a few herbs and sometimes edible flowers in the vegetable box. As the variety of vegetables that grow in winter is quite limited we decided to distribute our boxes from May to December (around 30 weeks).

Price

THAT’S A SPECIAL ONE! BECAUSE IT’S UP TO YOU!

We decided to apply a “sliding scale” for our CSA shares. This means that you can choose your own price within the limits of a minimum and maximum price set by us. Choose a price on the sliding scale, according to the pick up point (farm or city) and according to your financial abilities and the value you, personally, want to give the vegetables. We are doing this, because we believe that healthy, fresh vegetables should be available to everyone and because we hope that this system will encourage members to reflect on the value of food. With the minimal price we can cover the costs of production and pay ourselves a very small wage. It is up to you to pay more if your financial situation allows it and if you feel like keeping shares affordable for others, while ensuring us a livable income.

joining us later?

You can, of course, join us later in the season if we still have space. In that case you do not pay for the whole season but from your starting week until December. You can tell us your weekly price on the sliding scale and we’ll do the math for you.
